About Deborah

Beautiful lettering and calligraphy, luxurious paper and printing—these are the things that excite me! I'm passionate about the details. When I’m doing calligraphy, I fuss over each stroke. When I’m creating
invitations, it's the proportions—lettering size to overall shape, relationship of textures, colors. And keeping it
all simple, elegant and classic to reflect my clients' refined tastes.

Deborah Nadel Design is a full service design studio specializing in custom invitations in New York and Long Island, calligraphy for weddings and special events, and fine hand lettering. Founder Deborah Nadel is a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York and a former art director for various design groups. She has more than 20 years experience as a designer and lettering artist.

Deborah's creative vision, attention to detail and innovative approach to invitation design in New York have been recognized by Brides, Brides Receptions, Modern Bride and Martha Stewart Weddings. Whether classic or extravagant, her invitation designs employ a wide spectrum of specialty papers and enclosures, as well as printing methods such as letterpress, engraving and offset. Her customized hand calligraphy embraces styles from ornate to delicate scripts. Along with couture invitations, she offers custom monograms, ceremony booklets, menus, table signs and hand calligraphy for envelope addressing and place cards.

Deborah's lettering has appeared in magazines and newspapers, in logos and corporate communications, posters, packaging, book jackets and websites. Her skill and sophisticated approach to lettering design and calligraphic illustration have earned her many loyal clients including Tiffany & Co. and Crabtree & Evelyn.

In 2009, Deborah was chosen by Tiffany & Co. to create lettering
for the Tiffany Notes jewelry collection. The words 'I love you' and Tiffany & Co.' in Deborah's elegant script adorn rings, charms
and lockets.

Most recently, Deborah created the lettering for the luxury wedding conferences Engage!12 The Breakers and Engage!13 Biltmore Estates. Her hand lettering was used to brand the events from the logo and website to signage, printed materials and gifting.
